Information Technology, Electronics and Electrotechnology

Realm

Welcome to my information technology, electronics and electro-technology home page. This is where you'll find loads of information relevant to my interests in electronics, computing and information technology. This site is running on a machine built with components from Sun Microsystems.

Note: This isn't really my main home page, so to get to it, click here.

As well as the pages and sites mentioned below, I've also assembled a collection of links to sites covering electronics, computing and information technology which you might like to check out.

Hardsoft - an Oxymoron?

- Maybe it is an oxymoron, but you can still find out about the hardware and software that I use here.

Please take the time to explore all the software links to find out if the packages listed could be useful for you. Since the majority of software I use is public-domain or shareware, the authors of each package depend on your interest and feedback for support and inspiration to continue development work.

Also check out my new Labtam Xengine resource page, and my even newer guide to configuring Cisco 1000, 2500, 1600, 2600 and 3600 series routers to support Data-over-Voice (DoV).

Something else I've begun to work with are networked video cameras such as those from Axis, and a few other manufacturers. Cameras are perfect applications for embedded computing devices...

The Sun Shack

Through my involvement with workstations and related products and equipment made by and for Sun Microsystems I have set up The Sun Shack - an assortment of links to other handy sites and sources of Sun information. As an offshoot of this I've set up The Sun Shack Data Archive, which is a collection of pages containing otherwise unobtainable data, etc. about Sun equipment.

Additionally, you might like to check out the web pages for Sun Ripened Kernels, a small operation of mine which deals in surplus and pre-loved Sun Microsystems equipment. Please note that because of APANA's prohibition of commercial use, these web pages are hosted outside APANA.

- On a slightly different footing, check out my auctions for computer hardware, etc. which I conduct on Ebay.

Terranova

- An interesting combination of science and computing. Terranova is a local adaption of a project that generates an image of a different terra-formed planet each day using a variety of public domain image manipulation tools.

Credit goes to John Walker for the original work in developing the terranova project. His excellent web site, which is chock full of interesting, science-related things such as the original terranova, is well worth a visit.

More Bit.Humour

- If you have already visited my bit.humour repository which is attached to my main home page, you like to explore some of these sites:

Denounce - all the news that never happened - is recognised around the world as the best source for completely fictional news and information.

When you're not looking for a reliable, accurate website for computer industry news, there's only one place to go...
