Melbourne. My 'castro' jacket hangs behind the observers chair and my
regular driver for most of the time I worked at DELEC - George Wilson - is
watching from the drivers chair. We worked the train to Goulburn then headed
for the barracks for a good night's sleep! George was a highly-skilled and
respected driver and it was an immeasurable privilege to have spent the best
part of four years learning under his keen guidance. George started work on
the railways in 1957 and retired in 2000.

This page caters for my dual involvement in the Australian railway
scene as, firstly, a professional locomotive and train driver/operator
(FreightCorp aka SRA from 1990 to 1994, CityRail aka RailCorp from 1994 to
2007, Independent Rail aka from 2007 to 2008, Genesee and Wyoming Australia
aka GWA 2008 to 2010), and secondly as a prototype and model railway
enthusiast.
