Event- and Tape-ography

Maybe you're wondering what sort of experience I have in the club and party scene as a DJ. Not all that much since I've never been too pleased about Sydney's far-too-cliquey promoter/DJ ambience.

However, I have played at a couple of events/parties:

In October 1996 I spun my first DJ spot here in Sydney at Clan Analogue's then-regular Wednesday night club event.

In late March 1997 I flew to Perth for a brief holiday and met up with a couple of ravers from that side of Australia. I spun at a private party organised by one their friends.

In August 1997 I flew to Cincinnati, Ohio (in the US) for a holiday and a chance to meet a bunch of friends from Vrave. While I was there, I spun at a party called Jenerator (pics and flyer artwork coming soon) for the birthday of two vravers named Jennifer, and met up with a whole bunch of other vrave people from the mid-west region.
I've also produced a handful of mixtapes (that won't be appearing in record stores) which I makes copies of to send out to my friends from vrave whenever I complete a new one. So far I've completed 4 tapes:

a hard/acid trance tape which I completed in August 1995,

a hard techno tape which I completed in December 1995,

a ambient/acid trance tape which I completed in April 1996,

and a trance/techno tape which I completed in August 1996.

I haven't done any mixtape work for a couple of years now... Mainly due to family commitments and the purchase of my house in 1998 which has seen a lot of my time and resources since then put towards renovation, maintenance, etc. of the building.

However, my next mixtape project is another hard/acid trance tape, of which one side is completed. After that I plan to do a hard techno tape incorporating a little happy hardcore.

NEWS! - I am going to try to convert some of my mixtapes into MP3 format so that you will be able to download them at your leisure. If you're interested in this project, please let me know since the more interest there is the sooner I'll start getting the MP3 encoding completed!
